CaptionPopper is sold through Polar, our Merchant of Record. Polar is the seller of your subscription: it takes your payment, sends your receipt, collects the applicable taxes and issues refunds on our behalf. Your card statement will show Polar's name. The free plan costs nothing, so it has nothing to refund.
You can cancel at any time from Manage subscription in the account menu. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Periods that have already passed are not refunded, except as described below or where the law requires it.
The refund depends on how much of your plan's monthly allowance you used since that payment. Speech recognition and AI features are paid to our providers the moment you use them, so we cannot get that cost back. We count speech recognition minutes, and AI characters for translation and AI Magic, from our usage records, and use whichever share is larger.
Amounts are calculated on what you paid before tax. The tax on a refunded amount is refunded with it. Payment processing fees are not refundable by Polar, but we do not deduct them from your refund.
A full refund is available once per customer. Later requests are reviewed case by case. If a request looks like abuse, such as repeatedly buying, using and refunding, we may decline it.
If CaptionPopper was unavailable or unusable because of a problem on our side, we will refund the affected time in proportion, or extend your plan, whichever you prefer.
This policy does not limit any rights you have by law. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. If you asked for the service to start right away, we may deduct the value of what you already used, as the law allows.
Email support@captionpopper.com from the address you used at checkout, and include your order reference if you have it. We aim to reply within 2 days. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method through Polar, usually within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank. Polar's own buyer terms also apply to your purchase, and Polar may issue a refund itself in some cases.
